Iraq: The Illegal War Since when did the 'ousting' of Saddam Hussein become a War? The invasion of Iraq was primarily to 'liberate' the country from the dictatorship of an evil man. How on earth did it suddenly become a 'war' that the United States of America has to 'fight'? It has me totalled puzzled.
Perhaps they have misunderstood the meaning of 'liberate'? What is there to 'win' as we keep being told by the US Government? Surely it is a situation of helping the country right itself, not a take-over situation?
It is about time the US stopped interfering with other countries politics and looked after its own. Which, at the moment, seems to need a few pointers in the right direction.

Ah, this is an interesting subject indeed. Questions that should be put are. Did the former Iraqi regime have wmd's? No. Did the US admistration tell lies to get UN approval to invade? Yes. Dit the US administration get UN approval to invade? No. As invading powers, did the US, the UK and Australia ensure that all international obligations in relation to the invasion were complied with? No. And there are a host of other considerations to be taken into account. What do we have now? Over 3000 troops dead, thousands upon thousands of Iraqis killed and in overall terms, Iraq is now a civil war situation with really no end in sight. I hope the Bush regime is satisfied with its performance because no-one else is. Posts: 1 |
